Thobela Bixa

Mining Research Analyst Nedbank

Thobela joined Nedbank in July 2022 as an Equity Research Analyst, covering South Africa-listed diversified mining companies. He has seven years of equity research experience as a buy-side analyst. Prior to joining Nedbank, Thobela worked for Mergence Investment Managers (Mergence), where he covered precious metals mining companies including chemical companies. At Mergence, he also worked as an in-house ESG analyst, publishing thematic pieces that Mergence used to engage clients and investee companies. Thobela started his career at Fine Chemicals Corporations, a subsidiary of Aspen Pharmacare, as a Regulatory Chemist. He holds an MSc in Chemistry (cum laude) from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
