Mr. Kahenge Simson Haulofu holds a B.Sc. Degree (Honours) in Civil Engineering from the Tampere University of Technology, Finland. He currently serves as the Managing Director of the Namibia Power Corporation (NamPower) Pty Limited, the power utility of Namibia whose core business is the generation, transmission and trading of energy. He is registered as a professional engineer with the Engineering Council of Namibia.

Haulofu joined NamPower in 1998 as Construction Manager: Projects and Civil Assets. In 2003 he was promoted to General Manager: Engineering Services. In 2004, Haulofu became Divisional Manager: Power Generation, a position he held until his appointment in 2016 as NamPower’s Managing Director.

His professional career prior to joining NamPower include serving as a project engineer with HKW Consulting Engineers and as project manager; Design Engineer and Resident Engineer at the Government Department of Water Affairs from 1994-1996. Haulofu also served as Planning Engineer at Namwater Corporation (1996-1998) prior to joining NamPower.

Having served as a member of the NamPower executive team for 15 years, Mr Haulofu chaired a number of committees and oversaw a number of projects. Among these include the chairpersonship of the NamPower Tender Board, which saw
the execution of the very successful US$40.0 million refurbishment investment into Zimbabwe’s Hwange Power Plant by NamPower.
