Katie Ferguson

Group Head Sustainability Anglo American

Katie is the Group Head of Sustainability at Anglo American, responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the sustainability strategy, including leading on a holistic systems-level approach to sustainability-related opportunities, risk management and value creation.
Over the last 13 years, Katie has worked in roles in Anglo American’s De Beers and Copper business units, as well as in the Group Social Performance team. In De Beers, she was SVP of Sustainable Impact, working with teams from mining through to marketing and retail to develop and deliver the Building Forever sustainability goals and global partnerships and programmes on Social Impact, Biodiversity, Diversity & Inclusion and ESG Reporting.
Katie spent six years based in South America in both the Copper business and in Group roles, working across multiple countries on capital project development, socio-political risk, social performance and community development. Prior to joining Anglo American, she worked in KPMG’s Global Risk & Sustainability team based in London supporting clients from multiple sectors on sustainability strategy, management systems and assurance.
