Energy and Decarbonisation Head Sibanye Stillwater

Jevon Martin serves as the Head of Energy and Decarbonisation at Sibanye-Stillwater, a leading international precious metals company. In this pivotal role, he spearheads the company's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040. Jevon brings a wealth of expertise to the table, having commenced his career in power generation engineering before making a successful transition into management consulting and later mining. 

 

Jevon has held several strategic roles within organisations he has served, leveraging his proficiency in strategy development, business transformation, operations management, restructuring, post-merger integration (PMI), culture transformation, and change management. His leadership extends beyond Sibanye-Stillwater, as he also serves as a Director and Council Member of the Energy Intensive User Group of Southern Africa (EIUG) and chair of the Business Unity of South Africa (BUSA) Energy Committee. 

 

Jevon's comprehensive understanding of global and local electricity supply industries (ESI) encompasses strategic, technical, regulatory, and commercial aspects. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Business Administration from Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom. His commitment to sustainability and innovative energy solutions underscores his dedication to driving positive change in the mining and energy industries.
