Jasper Jung is Executive Director, Global Strategic Initiatives, for Global Public Policy at General Motors. At GM, responsible for driving growth opportunities for GM through policy campaign strategies and advocacy in areas such as supply chain resilience and sustainability, manufacturing and workforce development, and technology and energy issues. A critical area of focus is advancing GM’s vision for an all-electric future through building a secure, sustainable, and scalable EV value chain. Jasper brings extensive experience in public affairs and policy across a range of industries and sectors. Since joining GM in 2012, he has held various roles driving policy strategy and advocacy focused on sustainability, electrification, and industry transformation while based in Detroit, Singapore, and Seoul. Jasper has crafted and steered a number of public campaigns, including in support of one of GM’s largest ever restructuring efforts and investment in GM Korea operations. Prior to joining GM, Jasper led communication strategies for the Corporate Partnerships Program and private sector engagement at Environmental Defense Fund, a leading non[1]profit environmental advocacy organization. He also worked for a global public affairs firm, Public Strategies, Inc. He started his career in public policy at the White House and the United States Senate. Jasper earned a B.A. in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. He is currently based in Washington, DC.
