Driving sustainable investment in African Mining

Minister of Mines & Geology Chad

Abdelkerim Mahamat Abdelkerim is the Minister of Mines and Geology. He was appointed member of the Government of the Transitional Military Council on May 2, 2021. He was reappointed to the new Government of National Unity of the Transition on January 02, 2024. He did his higher education in Dakar, Senegal where he obtained a Diploma of Higher Studies in Social Sciences. He began his career at the Ministry of Public Health where he held several technical responsibilities. He held high positions including Director General at the Ministry in charge of Social Action. He also had extensive experience in a humanitarian organization where he held the position of Country Director for 13 years. He has a total of 30 years of alternating career between the public and private sectors and has good experience in the field of coordination, planning and management of sustainable development projects.
