Impact Area Manager – Mining and Mineral Resources & People Centred Mine Modernization CSIR

Hartmut Brodner holds a BSc and an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town. He joined the CSIR in 2021 as Business Development Manager and has recently taken up the role of Impact Area Manager for Mining & Mineral Resources and People-Centred Mine Modernisation. In this role, he leads a team of specialists to support Mining Houses, OEMs and OTMs with their automation, digital transformation and decarbonisation programmes for the mining extraction process. He is ardent about the interface between technology and people and has a passion for supporting a globally competitive South African mining industry.

Mr. Brodner has over a decade experience in the mining industry in various roles and different parts of the mining value chain. He has held positions in the area of metallurgy at Anglo American and a technical leadership role at a tier 1 Mineral Processing OEM, Metso, as General Manager: Technical Sales Support for Capital Equipment.
