Dr. Jacinto Rocha

Education:
He holds a BA (Hons)(Political Science) and a BSc (Hons)(Geology) from 
Gustavus Adolphus College in the USA, a Graduate Diploma in Engineering
(Mining) from Wits University, a LLB (law) from UNISA and a MBA (Executive)
from the University of Cape Town.
Jacinto Rocha is currently a Doctoral Candidate (LLD) at the University of 
Pretoria.

Skills, expertise and experience: 
Jacinto Rocha has extensive experience in the mineral and mining sector both as 
a senior manager, consultant and an academic. His role in the drafting and 
implementation of the post-apartheid South African minerals and mining policy 
and legislation is well known.
As an academic Jacinto Rocha is Senior Lecturer (Visiting): Prospecting and 
Mining Law at the Wits University Law School (Mandela Institute).

In 2018, Jacinto Rocha was appointed as Advisor to the Angolan Minister of 
Mineral Resources Petroleum and Gas. In June 2020 he was appointed as the 
President and CEO of the Angolan National Mineral Resources Agency.
