Craig Dean

Executive Chairman & CEO Gerald Group

Craig Dean is Chairman and CEO of Gerald Group, the largest independent and employee-owned global metals merchant. Prior to becoming CEO in 2012, Craig served as Group CFO for five years. Craig has over 25 years of experience in the global commodities trading and shipping industries, and before joining Gerald in 2007, was Audit Partner at Deloitte & Touche in Switzerland.

Craig is leading Gerald’s growth into new geographic regions and countries in Africa where the Group has growing presence, with a focus on expanding its metals portfolio and adding value across the global metals supply chain. He would like Gerald to play a role in shaping the future of metals as they impact the lives of society and communities.

He is also Chairman and CEO of Marampa Mines Limited, Gerald’s flagship iron ore asset in Sierra Leone. Under Craig’s vision, Marampa Mines has transformed from a non-performing asset into one of Africa’s highest-quality iron ore producers and a major contributor to the country’s economic and social development.

Craig holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) degree and a degree in Accounting from University of Connecticut and is a member of the Swiss Chamber of Accountants “Chambre Fiduciaire”.
