Dr. Carter is the Founder and CEO of TDi Sustainability - a management consulting company to the mining industry; the Founder and Chief Strategist at The Impact Facility for Sustainable Mining Communities - a non-profit providing communities in Africa access to patient capital; and the Executive Director of the Fair Cobalt Alliance. He built the first ethical gold and diamond supply chain and the world’s first tracking system for conflict-free metals sourced from the DRC; he is currently building value chain assurance systems for coloured gemstones, natural gas, lead batteries, and solar. He is an associated lecturer at Warwick Business School and his opinions have featured in the Washington Post, FT, Guardian, and Economist.
