Adama Soro

President EFEDCOM, The ECOWAS Federation of Chambers of Mines

Adama Soro, is the President of EFEDCOM, the ECOWAS Federation of Chambers of Mines, representing seven member countries. He won the PADEV award for Best African Mining Promoter in Kigali, Rwanda in 2022.

Mr. Soro was the President of the Chamber of Mines until very recently. Prior to that, he was a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the CSR and Communications Commission since 2016 before being elected president on June, 2021.

Adama Soro is currently the Group Vice-President of Social Performance at Endeavour Mining as well as the Vice President of Public Affairs for Burkina Faso. Starting from January 2018, he held the position of Endeavour Mining's Country Manager for Burkina Faso. From October 2015 to December 2017, he served as the Superintendent of Corporate Affairs for Essakane, a subsidiary of the IAMGOLD group.

With 22 years of experience Adama Soro boasts a substantial academic background, including degrees and certificates in mathematics, a master’s degree in business administration and management sciences, and certification in the Global Learning Initiative for International Trade.

Adama Soro is driven by the goal of maximizing the benefits of the mining sector and enhancing its social and economic benefits for local communities.
