Flight Safety Foundation – BARS Program

Stand: S20

The Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) is an international non-profit organization that provides impartial, independent, safety guidance and resources for the aviation and aerospace industry. The FSF Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) Program commenced in Australia in 2010.

The global BARS Program is an independent safety assurance program that consists of four elements: a suite of standards, a robust Audit Program, Aviation Safety Training and a Data Analysis Program. These elements work together to provide an efficient means of monitoring, assessing and analysing risks associated with contracted aviation operations.  It is suited to any organization that uses aircraft (Fixed and Rotary wing) operators or Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS)/Drone operators to provide contracted aviation support, particularly within remote and hostile environments.

The Program is heavily supported by BARS Member Organisations, who join as subscribed Members, consisting of companies in the onshore resource sector and other sectors such as Offshore Oil & Gas, Utility & Energy, government, humanitarian, and defence. Subscription to the BARS Program provides access to the Program software database, invitation to the biannual Technical Advisory Committee meetings, as well as other associated products and services.
