Khalid Al-Mudaifer has been appointed Vice Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs in June 3, 2018.
Mr. Al Mudaifer has 30 years of industrial experience, including 23 years in executive mining sector leadership roles. Khalid joined Ma’aden as Vice President for Phosphate and Business Development where he led the development of the Ma’aden Phosphate Company and the master planning and development of Ras Al Khair Industrial City. He became President and CEO in 2011, led the company as it grows into a world class integrated national mining champion serving global markets.
Prior to joining Ma’aden, Mr. Al Mudaifer was Vice President and Director of Finance at the Eastern Petrochemical Company (Sharq/SABIC JV) and President of the Qassim Cement Company.
Khalid has held a number of board memberships with Qassim Cement, Saudi Arabian Railways, Gulf International Bank, U.S.-Saudi Business Council (USSABC), International Fertilizer Association (IFA) and a number of social and government committees, boards and councils, and is currently on the Board of Ma’aden.
He holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Global Business from the University of Oxford, an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
