Dr Andreas Hucke is the Project Director of CERA, the first certification scheme that ensures an affordable, universal and standardised evaluation of environmental, social and economic sustainability in extraction, processing, trading and manufacturing of all raw materials.
Dr Hucke is a member of the Association of German Geologists, Geophysicists and Mineralogists, and holds a diploma in Geology and a PhD from Bochum Ruhr University, Germany. Since 1989, Dr Hucke has held a variety of roles at DMT Group, an international independent engineering and consulting company, headquartered in Essen, Germany.
Over the last 20 years, Dr Hucke has developed an expertise on mining safety, rock mechanics, supporting technologies, mine safety, and disposal facilities for atomic waste. Dr Hucke has also led and co-ordinated a range of Research & Development projects across the European Union. Dr Hucke is an Accredited Expert in Rock Mechanic and Support Technology and an internationally recognized authority on sedimentology, palaeontology, petrography, mineralogy, hydrogeology, coal petrography, tectonics, borehole geophysics, seismology, blasting, drilling, and rock stress-measurement in underground mining.
Since 2016, Dr Hucke has been responsible for the Strategy Project Transparency at DMT Group, through which the CERA project was first originated.
