Note: All members of the media must supply the documents listed below when applying for press accreditation on-site. Your press application will be subject to review and the terms and conditions – PLEASE SEE BELOW.

Accredited media will receive COMPLIMENTARY conference registration to the 2013 Investing in African Mining Indaba. In order to qualify as accredited press, you must supply the following at the time of registration on-site:

  • Official Press Card with your name and photo
  • A copy of the most current print or online publication masthead with your displaying your name and job title as  journalist, writer, correspondent, or editor, news anchor.
  • If you do not have a magazine masthead you will need to provide two articles in written by you showing your name with the article. These must be provided in print format.
  • Special note for freelance journalists: if you are a freelance journalist on assignment for a publication or news outlet, you will need to provide a letter of assignment written and signed by a representative from the news organisation on lettehead. Please note that the media organisation must meet the standards below.

PUBLICATION TYPES
Press credentials will not be granted to any individuals holding a title of publisher, sales, corporate media executive, public relations, marketing, consultant or any other non-editorial professional. In addition, any individuals from an organisation, which recommends, advises, or consults on stocks, funds or any other monetary instruments, regardless of title, will not be granted press credentials. They may register as a conference delegate at the current published rate. Press access is reserved for qualifying news agencies. This may only include but not limited to: business-to-business trade publications (either print and/or online), business-to-consumer publishers (either print or online), and/or national and international newspapers, magazines, radio stations and TV broadcasters. Each application will be carefully reviewed to ensure that the credentials are met. Regardless of job title, press accreditation will not be granted if your organisation is not considered one of the aforementioned publication types.

EDITORIAL TITLES
Press credentials are reserved for qualified editorial professionals ONLY. Mining Indaba LLC, organiser of the 2013 Investing in African Mining Indaba, reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deny or withdraw the accreditation of any member misusing press credentials conferred upon them or who do not meet the qualifying criteria.

Acceptable editorial titles: editor, writer, contributor, columnist, author, correspondent, journalist, or any other title that indicates you are exclusively the writer or editor of the magazine.

FREELANCE WRITERS
If you are a freelance writer commissioned by a magazine or newspaper to cover the event, then you will need to provide a letter from the relevant publication you will be representing. The letter must be signed by the head of the editorial department and be written on the publication’s letterhead.  Please note: If the publication does not meet the criteria, your application for press access will be denied. The letter of recommendation will need to be provided in addition to standard press application required materials.

PRESS ACCESS INCLUDES:
Complimentary registration which provides access to all conference sessions, exhibit hall, and food and beverage functions held at the convention centre (i.e. breakfast, lunch, and cocktail reception). Press access does not grant access to the annual golf tournament, pre-conference workshops, or invitation-only events.

In addition Mining Indaba, LLC  reserves the right to amend and update these terms as it sees fit throughout the event process. All credentialed press will be notified should any changes to their status occur.
